WV Interstate 77 Concrete Truck Crash Claims Life
Ripley, WV — A rollover crash resulted in a death on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, around 7:00 a.m. The truck accident happened near the Ripley exit at mile marker 139 on West Virginia’s Interstate 77.
According to a Jackson County deputy, a concrete truck was traveling South on Interstate 77 when the driver lost control, crashed through a sign and guardrail, and then rolled over an embankment onto his side. There were no other vehicles involved. Only one lane was open after the crash, but the southbound lanes reopened later in the morning.
Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The victim was from Meigs County, Ohio, but his identity wasn’t released.
