Pedestrian Struck in Charleston, WV Hospitalized

CHARLESTON, WV — A pedestrian was struck by a car on Charleston’s West Side at the intersection of Florida Street and Washington Street on October 11, 2022, right around 1:30 p.m.
Charleston Police Department reported that the pedestrian may have suffered a broken ankle and was taken to the hospital. The pedestrian received a citation for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. West Virginia bicycle laws prohibit riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. It’s unclear how riding a bicycle on the sidewalk contributed to the bike and car accident.
