Car crashes into WV school bus leaving one dead — DUI charges imminent
Charleston, WV — On Wednesday evening at about 5:30 near Rt. 52 in Breeden, Mingo County, Wendell Lewis Perry was driving his car erratically when he swerved into a school bus, according to witnesses.
The driver of the bus was not injured and fortunately no students were on board. However, Randolph Marcum, a passenger in Perry’s car, was killed in the crash.
According to the investigation, beer cans and several pill bottles were found on the floor of Perry’s car. The investigating deputy said he smelled alcohol on Perry’s breath.
Perry was taken to the hospital. Deputies said he is facing charges of DUI causing death.
