Car Hits West Virginia DOH Worker in Work Zone

A vehicle struck a West Virginia Department of Highways flagger in a work zone on Monday morning, November 21, 2022. The construction zone accident occurred in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The flagger was struck around 8:30 a.m. by the vehicle and early reports suggest minor injuries, thankfully.
Of course, drivers should use extra caution while driving through West Virginia work zones. “It’s a constant reminder of the importance of staying alert when navigating a work zone,” said Scott Eplin, WV assistant deputy secretary of transportation.
Unfortunately, numerous flaggers sustained injuries this year in West Virginia construction zones, contributing to the number of West Virginia workplace injuries in 2022.
